Terms · how the site and its data may be used
The short version: use the data freely with credit, treat pictures under their own licences, check the source before anything important rides on a number, and write to contact@robotregistry.net if something is wrong.
RobotRegistry is an independent site run from Sydney, Australia, and can be reached at contact@robotregistry.net. By using the site or its data you accept these terms.
An independent record of robot specifications. Every value is quoted from a public source and dated, as the methodology explains. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or paid by any manufacturer. Names, logos and trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to say which product a record is about.
Values are only as good as what their sources publish, and sources can be wrong or change without notice. The site is provided as it is. Check the original source before relying on a value for a purchase, a safety decision or an engineering design. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for loss caused by using the site or its data. Nothing here takes away rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
The data (values, sources, dates and marks) is licensed CC BY 4.0. You may copy, share and build on it, commercially too, as long as you credit RobotRegistry with a link to robotregistry.net. The JSON API is free and needs no key; keep automated requests to a sensible rate, and we may block traffic that slows the site for everyone.
Pictures are not part of the data licence. Each one shows its own credit and licence underneath, usually a Creative Commons licence or the manufacturer's own media. Reuse a picture under its terms, not ours.
Anyone can report a wrong value from its record or on the report page. Manufacturers can send a better source to contact@robotregistry.net. A value changes only when a source supports the change, and every change is logged publicly.
If you send us a correction, value or source, you agree it may be published under CC BY 4.0 as part of the record. Contributions are published without your name.
If you think something here infringes your rights, such as a picture or a trademark, write to contact@robotregistry.net with the page and what is wrong. We reply within seven days.
Do not try to break or overload the site, send false reports, or use the forms for spam. For bulk access, download everything at once from /api/robots rather than scraping pages.
The weekly changelog is free, sent only after you confirm, and every mail has an unsubscribe link. What we keep for it is on the privacy page.
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version, and using the site after a change means you accept it.
The laws of New South Wales, Australia, apply to these terms, and its courts have jurisdiction.
